This year I really wanted the kids to have hard teachers. I really want them to learn how to work hard. For some reason, the boys have never ever seemed to have teachers that give a lot of homework. It sounds terrible to say that I’m not sure if they’re doing this homework in study hall or on the bus because I should ask that question. I think I have asked a couple times and they always do tell me they do it in study hall.

Anyway, back to my point, another thing that I realize is really great is when the teacher really utilizes techniques for different learning styles. The teachers seem to really do things that require the kids to do other than sit and listen. Matt had to make a comic strip as a group the first week where they had to use words with Latin roots in all the speech bubbles. Jack had to make a video the first week for his English class. I guess there’s more to a good year than more homework.
